The San Diego Chargers began their history in 1960 as the Los Angeles Chargers of the AFL. The original owner of the team was Barron Hilton, son of Conrad Hilton. In 1961 the team moved to San Diego and the AFL merged with the NFL in 1970.

San Diego baseball fans have an amazing facility to call home. Petco Park is one of the best parks in baseball and offers some amazing views of not only the game, but the surround area. This stadium has spurred economic growth in a once forgotten part of downtown San Diego. If you are going to be in San Diego, then a visit to this stadium is a must!

College football in the United States is a culture in it’s own right. With so many teams in every region of the country, weekly football games turn into weekend long celebrations. Students, alumni and regular sports fans converge on a stadium in the tens of thousands hours before the game even starts. The Rose Bowl is another great place to experience the college sports phenomenon in Southern California.

Having arrived into Hawaii two days prior to the game it did not take long to notice Hawaii welcomed back the Pro Bowl with open arms. Banners lined the streets, merchandise was available from every second store, not to mention the general buzz on the news, in the newspapers and in the people.

The Giants defeated the Texas Rangers and won the World Series 4-1! The city erupted in an epic celebration with fans gathering at City Hall and along the Embarcadero. The Giants had not won the World Series since moving to San Francisco from New York in 1957.
